Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews’ manner of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece. And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. And Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.Īnd the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there: and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field but for Adam there was not found a help mate for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away whether there be tongues, they shall cease whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things. But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three and the greatest of these is love.Īnd the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone I will make a help mate for him. And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing. Love suffereth long, and is kind love envieth not love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
